Over the past 4 hours, Binance Futures liquidations totaled approximately $71.83 million, with long positions accounting for 95.7% ($68.71 million in longs / $3.12 million in shorts). The largest liquidation was $BTC ($25.16 million).
Friends, how do liquidations happen? Here’s a quick explanation 👇
These amounts are based on the positions’ notional value, not the actual money lost. In isolated margin mode, when a position with 10x leverage is liquidated, the margin lost is roughly one-tenth of its notional value.
A wave of liquidations means leverage on that side has been cleared out. Some people think the market may briefly calm down afterward, but that’s not a rule.
Don’t disrupt your plan based on a single number, and especially don’t gamble with borrowed money based on one reading.
