U.S. President Donald Trump said he was ready to accept the midterm election results and work with the Democrats, as the party is likely to gain control of both the House and the Senate.

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump said Republican candidates lost because he did not campaign for them. He said the two parties could reach some agreements.

Trump said he had no regrets about endorsing candidates Darlene Graham in South Carolina and Ken Paxton in Texas. According to the latest information, Graham lost, while Paxton is trailing in the Senate race. Trump also suggested that Senator Lindsey Graham, who died in July, would likely have won if he had run.
