🚨 Bhutan has just created a NEW central bank with permission to hold Bitcoin in its reserves 👀
While everyone was watching the U.S. elections, something bigger happened in the mountains of Asia.
🏔️ The king of Bhutan signed a decree turning the regulator of its special city, Gelephu, into its own central bank. The bank will be able to manage monetary policy and reserves, and paves the way for its own digital currency. And the key point: it will be able to invest in crypto alongside its traditional reserves.
🟠 Bitcoin is the centerpiece. Bhutan has already pledged up to 10,000 BTC for the development of that city, a reserve the country has mined using energy from its rivers. Monday’s closing price yesterday was around 76,700, and today it’s battling to reach 77,800. The decree doesn’t require any purchases, but it opens the door legally.
💎 ETH and BNB aren’t being left out: that same city had already named them as candidates for strategic reserves, alongside Bitcoin. ETH is hovering around 2,290 and BNB around 699, both still down more than 6% for the week.
💡 What this means for your wallet: when a central bank can hold crypto in its vault, the discussion stops being “whether it works” and becomes “how much.” That won’t push the price up tomorrow, but it changes who buys for the long term.
Do you think other central banks will follow the same path before 2030? 👇
