Before you rush to memorize the definitions: what’s the difference between unrealized and realized P&L?
Realized P&L is the profit or loss locked in when a position is closed. It’s settled into your wallet balance and no longer changes with the price.
Unrealized P&L is the floating profit or loss on an open position, calculated using the current price. When the price changes, so does the unrealized P&L.
When reviewing returns, focus on the net result after fees and funding payments. It’s more reliable than looking at the return percentage alone.
