Bitcoin supports Replace-by-Fee (RBF): you can replace an unconfirmed transaction by signing a new transaction that spends the same inputs with a higher fee.
While a transaction is still in the mempool, it hasn’t been added to the blockchain and may still be replaced or removed before it’s included in a block.
