The market action isn’t looking good. All four coins—XRP, Cardano (ADA), Near Protocol (NEAR), and Zcash (ZEC)—are under pressure, and market attention has shifted back to key support levels. U.Today used the phrase “bloodbath” right in its headline.

It’s worth noting that these four coins aren’t all the same kind of asset: XRP represents the old-school payments narrative, ADA is a veteran layer-1 blockchain, NEAR is a layer-1 blockchain that has refreshed its narrative in recent years, and ZEC belongs to the privacy sector. The fact that all four are being hit at once suggests the problem isn’t any individual project’s fundamentals, but a broader pullback in risk appetite. At times like this, poring over white papers and tracking ecosystem developments one project at a time isn’t very useful—when liquidity ebbs, good and bad assets alike get sold.

Support levels are brought up repeatedly because, at their core, they are the last line of defense for market sentiment. If they hold, it means there are still buyers willing to step in; if they break, the result is often not a slow, steady decline but a concentrated wave of panic selling. So the move to avoid most right now is buying the dip on instinct just because prices have “fallen a lot”—a big drop is never, by itself, a reason to buy. A confirmed rebound is.

My own framework is to first see whether the market leaders can stabilize, then check whether these coins can form a convincing base above their support zones. Before those two signals appear, managing position size matters more than choosing which coins to buy. If you really want to participate, consider buying in stages, keeping positions small, and holding some cash in reserve instead of going all in at once.

The easiest mistake to make during a market downturn is to confuse “cheap” with “safe.” The above does not constitute investment advice.
