A valid breakout is usually accompanied by increased volume, while a false breakout often occurs on low volume. This is the filtering method I use most often.
For example: a sharp 3.54% surge to 0.0992 in $UAI 5 minutes. Leave a little extra margin in your contract position—sharp volatility never picks a convenient time.
