Reserve currencies don't last forever.
The dates overlap, but the historical pattern is clear:
• Dutch florin: roughly 80–100 years of dominance
• British pound: roughly 100–120 years
• US dollar: about 80 years and counting
The dollar is still the world's dominant reserve currency. It has not been replaced, and there is no obvious successor today. But debt, money creation and the gradual loss of purchasing power give people a reason to consider scarce assets.
Some view the current period through the Fourth Turning theory: an 80–100-year cycle in which debt and institutional pressure build toward a crisis and reset. It is a debated theory, not a guaranteed prediction, but it offers an interesting way to view the monetary stress around us.
That is why I believe holding some Bitcoin matters.
Bitcoin has a maximum supply of 21 million coins. Governments cannot vote to create more of it, and no central bank controls its issuance.
If fiat currencies continue losing purchasing power while demand for Bitcoin grows, its scarcity could support substantial long-term appreciation. That is possible, not guaranteed. Bitcoin remains volatile.
There is also another path to stacking sats: holders can deposit $2HATS into the 2 Hats Jack mining pool and earn a variable share of the pool's BTCB mining rewards.
Reserve currencies change. Monetary systems change. Purchasing power moves.
Bitcoin gives people a scarce asset outside the currency-printing system. $2HATS gives its community a way to participate in stacking Bitcoin sats through the mining pool.
