Alibaba is testing Looogen, an AI platform for film and video creation that supports a local Agent and two operating modes. According to ChainCatcher, citing Du Jia, the platform can assist with script breakdowns, shot design, character and scene asset generation, voice-overs, music, and video production. Looogen offers a conversational mode driven by natural-language instructions and a workspace mode for manual control of individual production steps. Its desktop client runs on Windows and macOS, and the platform supports private deployment and connections to users’ own model channels. Sessions, generated assets, and finished videos are stored on the local device. The beta includes Seedance 2.0 and other models, supports 21:9, 16:9, and 9:16 aspect ratios, and offers resolutions from 480p to 1080p. The product remains in beta, and its features and pricing may change.
