A $6.34 billion security incident… Has trust returned?

On October 29, 2026, Binance announced a major security incident affecting digital assets worth approximately $6.34 billion in hot wallets.

According to Binance:

• No private wallet keys were leaked

• About $2.85 billion was frozen or intercepted

• The platform announced that it would absorb the losses

• About 98% of affected assets had been restored by October 31

• The technical investigation is still ongoing

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) attributed the attack to the North Korea-linked group TraderTraitor.

But the most important question isn’t: Is the platform back up and running?

The question is:

Has trust returned?

After this incident, what will you do?

1️⃣ I’ll keep using Binance, but with a smaller amount

2️⃣ I’ll spread my funds across multiple platforms and wallets

3️⃣ I’ll move most of my assets to a cold wallet

4️⃣ I’ll wait for the investigation to conclude and the full report to be released

5️⃣ I still trust Binance as much as I did before

Write the number of your choice and give your honest reason.

And an additional question for discussion:

Who bears the greatest responsibility?

A) The platform, because of its security systems

B) The employee or compromised device

C) The user who leaves their funds on a centralized platform

D) We can’t judge until the investigation is complete

Repost this if you believe digital asset security is a shared responsibility, not just an issue for large-scale traders.

Note: This is an educational discussion, not a call to withdraw or deposit funds. Do not share your passwords, verification codes, or recovery phrase with anyone.
