Liquidity is key in trading. It's about being able to buy or sell an asset without impacting its value. High liquidity means it's easy to do so. Low liquidity means it's not. For example, if you're trying to sell a rare item, you might have a hard time finding a buyer, and you might have to lower your expectations.
