Finished watching over lunch; jotting down a couple of thoughts

Gas, lesson two: no memorizing definitions, just practicing the math. Once, I made a small transfer and the fee nearly came to half the amount. It stung, so ever since then, I calculate the cost before making a move.

First, check the estimated fees and ask yourself whether this transaction is worth the price. Tell network fees apart from platform fees: transfers within an exchange and on-chain transfers have different costs. If it’s not urgent, wait until the network is less congested—choosing an off-peak time can save quite a bit.

Before hitting confirm, ask yourself one more thing: what am I paying this fee to make the network do, and have I set a limit? Not sharing receipts, just keeping notes on what I’ve learned. These are study notes, not investment advice.

Have fees ever stung you? What happened?
