U.S. President Donald Trump said Republicans would do “better than you expect” in Tuesday’s midterm elections, claiming that inflation had been “solved” and “everything is going well.” According to Sina Finance, his pre-election remarks contrasted with many voters’ dissatisfaction with the economy. Food, gasoline and medical costs are still rising, despite Trump’s promise to lower prices. The current annualized inflation rate is 3.7%, above the 3% level at the start of Trump’s second term. In a Tuesday morning interview, Trump did not address concerns about prices; instead, he promoted his administration’s immigration controls and said U.S. manufacturing was expanding.
