The broader market barely moved—so how did ICNT jump 43% in a day?
First, the numbers.
ICNT is at 0.2404, up 43.4% in 24 hours. It hit a high of 0.2463 and a low of 0.1652. Futures volume came to $85.15 million, with 400 million tokens changing hands.
Meanwhile, BTC is only at 77313, down 0.6% over 24 hours. The broader market barely moved, while ICNT climbed 42% on its own. That contrast is the most striking thing today.
This move wasn’t a single wick shooting up.
Yesterday at 4 p.m., the 4-hour candle had just 2.3 million in volume. Today, the 8 a.m. candle hit 29.9 million, and the noon candle reached 31.2 million. Volume has been building step by step.
The 1-hour chart is even clearer: the candles at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. each had around 12 million in volume. It’s been climbing the stairs, not launching a sneak attack.
One more bit of context.
ICNT’s 52-week range is 0.0836 to 0.5334. It even touched a low of 0.08086 on September 16. The 136% gain over 30 days is a climb back from the bottom.
At the current price, it’s still 60% below last December’s high of 0.591. Rather than a new-high rally, this looks more like a recovery from the bottom.
The bull case.
The volume is real. This isn’t a lone spike on no volume. It’s already up 136% in 30 days, and as long as the trend hasn’t broken, don’t try to call the top.
An afternoon technical snapshot put the RSI at 59.6, still in neutral territory and not overbought. Open interest at 58 million tokens isn’t particularly crowded either.
The bear case.
I looked around, and honestly, I couldn’t find any new ICNT announcements or partnerships today. There’s no fundamental news to explain the rally.
The funding rate is 0.005%, basically zero. That suggests shorts aren’t paying to stay in the trade either—spot buyers and longs are driving this move on their own.
My take.
I believe the volume, but not the story. The straighter a rally goes without any news, the more you have to watch out for a single red candle wiping out all three green ones.
The current price is still 60% below the all-time high of 0.591, with plenty of overhead bagholders. Until it holds above 0.2463, I’m calling this a climb up the stairs, not a reversal.
A couple of scenarios.
If it holds above 0.2463, the next levels to watch are 0.27 to 0.2864—that’s the top of the monthly range from the forecast model.
If it falls below 0.2177, the climb has stalled. First watch 0.19; if 0.19 breaks, the whole thesis is out the window.
What I’m planning to do.
I’ve taken a small position. If it falls below 0.2177, I’m out. If it holds above 0.2463, I’ll decide whether to add.
I can’t bring myself to chase it with a big position at these levels. Even if the volume is real, I need to leave myself a way out.
Will it hold above 0.2463 and keep pushing toward 0.27, or fall below 0.2177, lose steam, and head back to 0.19?
I’m betting on it pushing higher. What about you—would you take a position at this level?
