On election day, the futures market was characterized by “high turnover, little increase in open interest.”
According to CoinDesk data from November 3, crypto futures trading volume over 24 hours rose 51% to $168.1 billion, while open interest actually fell 1.63% to $134.9 billion. Rising volume without rising open interest has now continued for a second consecutive day, indicating that traders are frequently entering and exiting positions rather than making big directional bets.
Meanwhile, liquidations jumped 171% to $382.6 million, and aggressive sell orders accounted for 51.12%. $BTC was fluctuating around $76,900, while $ETH was fluctuating around $2,250, both before the election results came in.
My view: The results and media projections are expected to take until tomorrow, so today is better suited to keeping positions under control and using less leverage. Don’t get caught out by short-term wicks.
