What’s the difference between U-margined and coin-margined contracts? Don’t worry, your class study rep is here:
The profit and loss on a U-margined contract has a linear relationship with price movements: profit or loss on a long position equals (closing price − opening price) × number of coins.
When users holding BTC spot hedge with a coin-margined short position, the margin for the short and the asset being protected are the same coin. This is one of the common uses of coin-margined contracts.
