Anthropic has released FlashProve, an open-source AI inference verification system based on zkSNARKs. According to Odaily, StarkWare co-founder Alessandro Chiesa participated in the research, and the system uses cryptographic methods related to blockchain zero-knowledge technology to let users verify that an AI output came from a specified model without accessing its weights or rerunning it.

Anthropic said Claude contributed to optimizing FlashProve and that the code and Lean formal proofs are open source. The system remains a research prototype, with proof generation requiring about 70 to 95 times the GPU compute time of ordinary inference.

Tests showed that FlashProve generated proofs for Meta’s 400-billion-parameter Llama 4 Maverick at about 110 tokens per second on a single H100 GPU. Each proof was about 19 MB.
