If you spread a day's trading volume across 24 hours, would each hour get roughly the same share?
I’ve tried both answers on the Square. One says more or less: since it’s called a daily average, just divide it evenly across 24 hours—any hour you estimate will be the same. The other says it varies a lot: first check whether something has packed all the activity into that hour.
Binance spot $DOGE 's 1-hour candles (data retrieved at 2026-11-03T11:52Z, covering the previous 24 bars): in the hour from 17:00 UTC on 11-02, trading volume was 4.342 million USDT, accounting for 16.71% of the total across those 24 bars; the quietest hour was 23:00 UTC on 11-02, with 294,000, or 1.13%; the middle hour had 840,000.
I side with the second answer. Put the three figures side by side, and you can’t read an “average hourly level” into these 24 bars—the volume is concentrated in just a few hours.
