According to bits.media, the share of Russians who use cryptocurrencies to store savings is larger than those who use metal accounts and mutual funds. In total, a small number of Russians use cryptocurrencies for savings - about 0.4% of households. However, an even smaller share of respondents – 0.3% each – are interested in investing in metals and mutual funds. Many more people keep their savings in financial assets (65.1%) and bank accounts (64.1%). Some invest in stocks and bonds (1.6%), and 1.2% of respondents use electronic wallets.

The median investment amount in cryptocurrencies is 17,500 rubles. For comparison, an average of 15,000 rubles is kept in bank accounts and deposits, 3,284 rubles in metal accounts, and only 1,000 rubles in electronic wallets.

More than 12,000 citizens of the Russian Federation and 6,000 households participated in the survey. True, the survey was conducted from April to August 2022, and 70% of the responses were received in May and June.
