Saw a notice published in the Federal Register today: NYSE Arca is changing the listing basis for the already-trading Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF from the product-specific Rule 8.500-E to the revised generic Rule 8.201-E (Generic). File No. SR-NYSEARCA-2026-106, Release No. 34-106772.
Key points: The fund was originally approved in July 2025 under the Trust Units product-specific rules; in July 2026, the generic rules were just amended to allow trusts to hold up to approximately 15% of their NAV in digital commodities/securities that do not meet the core generic standards, and to explicitly cover digital commodities and shares of commodity trusts with active management. The exchange says the shares will maintain ongoing listing compliance under the new generic standards; the filing becomes effective immediately under Rule 19b-4(f)(6), but typically cannot become operative for about 30 days unless the SEC shortens that period. This is not approval of a new product—it is an existing crypto index ETF moving to a standardized listing framework.
Crypto ETPs are moving from “case-by-case” toward generic standards, marking another step forward on the regulatory front.
