HSBC plans to establish a global Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies in Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis, with operations scheduled to begin in early 2027. According to ChainCatcher, the institute will focus on skills development, AI safety and fraud detection, post-quantum cryptography, and blockchain, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology will serve as its primary academic partner.
