U.S. stocks: technicals — check levels before direction

Let’s go through the U.S. stock numbers first, then decide whether crypto will follow.

Start with the numbers, then discuss the outlook.

U.S. Dollar Index 101.77 (5-day -0.41%)
VIX 21.15 (5-day +20.72%)
Nasdaq 25,164 (5-day -3.84%, Yahoo)

My take: The dollar is already down -0.41%, while BTC is still falling -1.98%. The dollar excuse has run its course; this drop is crypto’s own selling pressure.

Crypto comparison: BTC 77022 (24h -1.98%), ETH 2258 (-2.11%). ETH at -2.11% is tracking closely with BTC at -1.98%; the exchange rate is 0.02932. There’s no independent move here, so don’t make a one-way bet on altcoins.

What I’m watching next: VIX is now at 21.15. If it moves above 18, I’ll cut my futures position in half. I’m not arguing with the U.S. market close.

My position: I don’t buy the first dip. Until the drop is accompanied by a decline in open interest, going long early is just catching a falling knife.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers won’t be filled in.
Would you place orders at the pullback levels, or wait for the candle to close?

Useful detail: OI is the notional value of open positions, not trading volume.
Idea: Fear & Greed >75: excitement, but don’t add leverage on the first entry.

For context: people are discussing “\"bitcoin OR stock market OR U.S. stocks\" - Google News.” I’m treating that only as background; the conclusion is still based on the numbers in the main post.

Personal opinion; figures are from the sources in the main post. Not an order to trade.
