Most people think native coins and tokens are simple, but this is where mistakes are easy to make:
The same token may have versions on multiple chains, and the contract address differs from one chain to another.
It’s useful to distinguish native coins from tokens: choosing a network, preparing Gas, and checking the contract address all require knowing which type of coin you have.
Before receiving tokens, verify the contract address through official channels. Having the same token name and ticker doesn’t mean they’re the same coin.
$ETH is Ethereum’s native coin. Token transfers on Ethereum also require $ETH to pay for Gas.
