Bafang | Crypto Hotspots 11.03
Sentiment has taken another turn for the worse. The Fear & Greed Index fell from 37 to 26 in a day. Around noon, $BTC was near 76,800, and $ETH was at 2,250—both notably lower than yesterday.
🧾 Proof of reserves is in
Binance says it has completed the zero-knowledge proof of reserves for the 10.31 snapshot. For BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC, users can verify for themselves whether their balances are backed 1:1.
It plans to open more withdrawal networks today, take another snapshot on 11.4, and add more coins. The proof will take another 40 to 50 hours.
But it only proves reserves at the time of the snapshot—not now.
🚨 Scammers are on the job
Binance issued a specific warning: DMs, emails, group chats, and even small transfers with a note claiming they can “speed up withdrawals,” “claim compensation,” or “move your coins into a secure vault” are all scams. The official platform does not charge an unlocking fee.
🇰🇵 North Korea denies involvement
Kim Yo Jong issued a statement today calling the U.S. allegations “absurd remarks.” The FBI had already named TraderTraitor. Citing on-chain data, CoinDesk reports that addresses linked to the hackers began converting stolen SOL into BTC on Sunday.
🗳 U.S. midterm elections today
On Polymarket, Democrats have about a 76% chance of winning the Senate and 95% for the House. Crypto PAC Fairshake and its affiliates have spent about $155 million this year, including nearly $56 million to oppose Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Yet on Monday, the market gave Brown a 72.5% chance of winning.
Bafang’s take: Proof of reserves is a plus, but the market is now worried about the pace of legislation after the election. Take it easy over the next couple of days—avoiding scams matters more than buying the dip.
Once the election results are in, do you think the crypto PACs got their money’s worth, or was it money down the drain?
