The tokenized stocks initiative has hit a serious obstacle: the joint venture between OKX and ICE, the parent company of the NYSE.

According to CoinDesk, 12 more companies, including Nvidia, Costco, Nike, and Micron, have joined the opposition, bringing the total to 50. Of the 62 companies initially selected, 43 (about 69%) have raised objections. For companies notified on October 4, the 30-day objection period ends around November 3.

Nineteen companies have yet to publicly oppose it, including Apple, Tesla, Amazon, and Netflix. But “not opposing” doesn’t mean “supporting.”

The platform envisions round-the-clock trading of U.S. stocks using stablecoins like $USDT. It sounds cool, but the key question is whether the issuers will give it the green light. OKX Co-Chairman Cuomo says this is just the beginning. My take: in the short term, this looks more like a drawn-out effort to persuade big companies. I couldn’t find direct data on $OKB’s price, so I won’t draw a conclusion.
