Palantir CEO Alex Karp said in a shareholder letter released alongside the company's third-quarter earnings on Nov. 2 (local time) that the key alignment challenge is ensuring AI developers' goals serve customers and the public interest, rather than aligning technology's objectives with human interests. According to ChainCatcher, the report interpreted his remarks as a call to focus less on the prospect of AI agents turning against humans and more on whether major developers such as Anthropic and OpenAI pursue self-serving goals. Karp has previously criticized AI developers for seeking to absorb enterprise clients' core data and technological advantages into their own AI systems.
