【AMD took a hit before earnings】
Earnings aren’t out yet, but AMDB has already dropped 7.5%. Is this a pressure release, or is the real drama still to come?

At Monday’s U.S. market close, AMD finished at $466.84, while Intel fell nearly 9% again. The entire chip sector shed over $400 billion in market value in a single day.

AMD reports early Wednesday morning Beijing time. According to MarketBeat, the consensus estimate for third-quarter revenue is around $13.09 billion.

What the market cares about now is no longer just orders, but also cash flow and gross margins. Intel was hammered last week after saying it wouldn’t have positive cash flow this year.

I’m leaning toward the “pressure release” scenario: as long as revenue beats expectations and fourth-quarter guidance holds up, a post-earnings rebound seems more likely.

Here’s what could prove me wrong: a clear drop in gross-margin guidance, or management sounding less confident about data center demand. If that happens, the stock may not be done falling—admit the mistake and don’t buy the dip.

On Binance bStocks, AMDB was quoted at 475.2 USDT at 7:33 this morning, slightly above the U.S. closing price. That premium could disappear at any time. bStocks are tokens pegged to stock prices and do not represent ownership of shares.

Which side are you on: a pressure release, or more downside ahead?
