📌 Overnight review: The two levels from the early-morning post; neither was triggered overnight
The early-morning post said a 23:00 close below 77,570.1 and an intrabar test of 76,966 at 01:00 would set a new 24h low. The invalidation conditions were a close back above 77,570.1 or a break below 76,472. Overnight, price broke down and never reclaimed the level: the 23:00 close was 77,486.2, followed by closes of 77,469.2 at 00:00, 77,116.1 at 01:00, 76,992.7 at 02:00, 77,062.9 at 03:00, 76,763.4 at 04:00, 76,827.7 at 05:00, 76,920 at 06:00, and 76,795.5 at 07:00. All nine consecutive closes were below 77,570.1. At 00:00, the upper wick touched 77,657.3, but the close was still below the level—a wick touching the level does not count as a reclaim.
The lower level also held: the lowest overnight close was 76,763.4 at 04:00. The intrabar low of 76,621.8 at 08:00 set a new 24h low, but the 08:00 candle has not closed yet, so an intrabar move does not count as a break. 76,472 remains intact.
During the decline, OI rose from 33,398.4 coins early in the morning to 34,073.9 coins, an increase of approx. 675.5 coins: positions were being opened as price fell, rather than shorts closing and exiting.
A sample of 100 trades (over approx. 11.7 seconds) showed 13 aggressive buys and 87 sells. This is only a snapshot of that moment, not evidence of market direction.

📌 If I were the market maker
Nine consecutive closes failed to reclaim the level after the breakdown. That means some participants are willing to buy below it, while others are willing to keep opening shorts. The rise in OI is the footnote to that story. I wouldn’t light the fuse myself in this kind of grinding market: 77,570.1 is the level that all nine overnight closes failed to reclaim, while 76,472 is a level that hasn’t been tested by a closing price. Price is grinding between these two levels—no sharp drop, but no reclaim either. Those chasing wicks will get squeezed from both sides. My cost basis isn’t in a single wick; it’s whether price can hold above a closing level.
━━━
📌 Retail traders following the market maker: Only hourly closes count
Today, watch only two closing levels; wicks don’t count:
Upper: If the 1H candle closes back above 77,570.1, the early-morning breakdown is invalidated; then watch 78,000.
Lower: If the 1H candle closes below 76,472, the downtrend continues; then watch 76,260.
Until either level is triggered, price is just grinding in the middle. Don’t chase wicks.
✅ Invalidation levels: A 1H close back above 77,570.1 invalidates the breakdown / A 1H close below 76,472 means the downtrend continues.
