Over the past two days, markets have played out the event-week script. Tech stocks plunged last Friday, and over the weekend came the biggest asset theft in history. Bitcoin was hammered down to last week’s low, then bought back up a few hours later. During Monday’s Asian session, risk assets broadly recovered.
The hardest part is waiting. Polling stations will begin closing tonight, and results will come in state by state starting Wednesday’s Asian session. In the meantime, every notification feels like a signal. Most are just noise.
The calendar can tell you only one thing: when everyone will know the answer at the same time. As for the answer itself, it won’t reveal it in advance.
