BTC Futures Night Session: Levels Matter More Than Direction
Whether to take this trade—the funding rate is more honest than the candlesticks.
Futures only care about three sets of numbers. Everything else is noise.
1. BTC 77,118; 24h range 76,664–78,878; change: -1.26%.
2. BTC open interest (notional): $7.60 billion, 24h +2.43%
3. Account-wide long/short ratio: 2.57
My take: Price is down -1.26%, but open interest is still rising +2.43%—new short positions. Treat any bounce as a retracement for now, not a reversal.
Trading zones (based on current price ± structure, not an old chart):
- Breakout zone: only consider chasing above 77,735; below that, it’s a false breakout
- Buy the pullback: 76,193–76,655; don’t buy if it breaks below this range
- No-trade zone: if the 1h candle closes below 75,730, skip this trade
My position: I don’t try to catch the first leg down. Until the drop is accompanied by falling open interest, early entries are just catching a falling knife.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily data (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers are left blank.
Would you place a limit order at the pullback level, or wait for the candle to close?

Useful tip: Market cap = price × circulating supply. Treating the market cap of fully locked tokens as trading depth can cost you.
Food for thought: The strongest meme coin didn’t outperform BTC by 2%—treat it as volatility, not a sector move.
