I came across this point again while flipping through my notes, so I thought I’d share it.
In September 2025, the Solana community voted to approve the Alpenglow consensus upgrade, which plans to replace TowerBFT with a new voting mechanism and remove historical proofs from consensus.
One reason Solana can produce blocks so quickly is that block producers are scheduled in advance. Leaders sort and execute transactions as soon as they receive them, avoiding a lot of back-and-forth coordination.
$SOL is Solana’s native token, used to pay transaction fees and for staking. Currently 92.39.
Have you run into any pitfalls related to this? Share them so others can avoid the same mistakes.
I could be wrong too, so don’t take this as advice.
