【Heavy selling on high volume: SUI is shifting gears】

The market has just sent a signal: SUI is down 2.1% over 24 hours and 3.7% over seven days, while trading volume has exceeded 5% of its market cap. The deeper the drop, the louder the story seems to get. FNG is at 37, with the market leaning fearful and the narrative waiting for someone to pick it up.

SUI’s old narrative was high-speed blockchain, consumer apps, and a gateway to DeFi, with the core selling point being “the next-generation gateway for users.” It’s drawing attention now not because the slogans are new, but because it’s down 84% from its ATH. Expectations are lower, and investors are starting to ask: can this thing actually make money on its own?

What does that mean in practice? Who will be affected? App teams, liquidity providers, and ecosystem projects all have to face the same question: once subsidies stop, will users still come back? Will fees still stick around? A business model isn’t proven by shilling—it’s about whether money keeps flowing when nobody’s hyping it up.

I think short-term sentiment could hold up for a few weeks, maybe a month or two at most. In the long run, it needs users and revenue to stay alive; otherwise, it’s just the same old playbook in new packaging. I saw it in 2017: the way people got rekt hadn’t changed, only the packaging had.

So I’m not treating this as a bottom, but I’m not rushing to call it doomed either. Do you still believe in the “ecosystem gateway” story, or are your fingers already itching to trade?
