BTC is trying to hold $78K, but the market still feels nervous.
At the time of this update, Bitcoin was trading around $77,772 after touching $76.3K. ETH was at $2,283, while BNB was hovering around $703.
What makes this interesting is that the market is still sitting in Fear territory, with the Fear & Greed Index around 37.
And yet, trading activity is picking up.
Derivatives volume reportedly jumped 55% to $465.36B. That’s a huge amount of activity, although high volume alone doesn’t tell us whether traders are betting on a recovery or protecting themselves against another drop.
Then there’s the Binance hack.
Binance says it has now covered around 95% of the affected $6.3B amount, and withdrawals are returning in phases. That’s a significant step, but I think there’s a difference between covering the financial losses and getting everyone’s confidence back.
People will remember this incident for a while.
For Bitcoin, I’m keeping an eye on two levels: $76K and $80K. If BTC loses $76K, things could get uncomfortable again. A convincing move above $80K would be interesting to watch, but I’d want to see buyers actually sustain it before calling it a recovery.
I’m not saying the market is about to crash, and I’m not calling the bottom either. There’s still too much uncertainty for that.
One thing this situation has reminded me of is that making money in crypto is important, but knowing where and how you hold your assets matters just as much.
So, what’s your move here?
Are you buying BTC around $77K, waiting for a confirmed break above $80K, or staying away until the Binance situation settles down?
