Strategy officially discloses adding 811 BTC|Repurchased STRC with separate cash|BTC still needs to reclaim 78,000

I acknowledge the fact that a company is buying, but I would not trade a disclosure as a guarantee of a price increase. A trending topic on Binance Square reads “#StrategyRepurchases$208MillionOfSTRCAndAdds811Bitcoin.” This is no longer just a suggestive image posted by Saylor: on November 2, Strategy published a Form 8-K on its website, and its Bitcoin holdings ledger also lists an entry for the same date. The filing states that it purchased 811 BTC between October 26 and November 1, for a total of approximately $65.5 million, at an average purchase price of approximately $80,846. As of November 1, it reported holding 849,327 BTC. During the same period, it also repurchased approximately 2.092 million shares of STRC preferred stock for approximately $208.2 million. These are completed transactions formally disclosed by the company—not market rumors or a promise to add to its holdings next week.

The funding source is the detail most easily overlooked. The 8-K states that this round of Bitcoin purchases was funded with approximately $65.5 million in proceeds from sales of MSTR common stock, while the STRC repurchase was funded with approximately $208.2 million of the company’s USD Cash. These are two separate capital allocation decisions. The $208.2 million should not also be counted as new buying demand for Bitcoin, and the preferred stock repurchase should certainly not be described as “selling Bitcoin to buy shares.” The company also disclosed that it allocated approximately $98.5 million in proceeds from MSTR issuance to USD Cash during the same period. This structure shows that as the company expands its BTC holdings, it is also maintaining its preferred-stock financing instrument and cash buffer. If its ability to issue stock, the price of preferred stock, or its cash reserves change, the pace of Bitcoin purchases could change too; we cannot mechanically extrapolate that the same amount will be bought every week.

So far, the market has not followed through strongly. At the time I checked Binance’s price page, BTC was around $77,258, with a 24-hour high of about $78,724 and a low of about $76,727—below the average purchase price of $80,846 disclosed for this round. The company’s cost basis is not a support level for the spot price. Farside data shows net outflows of $643.2 million from U.S. spot BTC funds on October 30. The figures for November 2 are still dashes; the automatically calculated total of 0.0 does not mean fund flows have turned positive. Corporate buying and fund redemptions are two different flows of capital. Which one prevails must be verified against future disclosures and the spot price together. I’m watching to see whether the area around $76,700 holds and whether BTC can reclaim $78,000. If it falls below $76,700 and cannot recover, my short-term stabilization thesis is invalidated. Only if it gets back above $78,000 and then breaks through $78,700, while fund data does not continue to deteriorate, would there be grounds to raise my risk budget.

If I were trading this myself, I would not chase a buy at current levels. I would only consider a conditional spot long, with a position size of no more than 5% of total capital and no leverage. The entry trigger is BTC holding above $78,000 and then retesting it without breaking below. The first target is $78,700, where I would reduce the position by half; the second target is $80,000, with a trailing stop on the remaining position. I would set the initial stop below $76,650. If, after entry, BTC falls back below $77,400 and continues to weaken, or an official filing contains an important update that changes the funding picture, I would close the position early. If the trigger does not occur within three days, I would cancel the plan. The formal disclosure answers the question of whether the company bought; next, we still need the market to confirm whether that buying can change the trend.
