Securitize announced the launch of trading in 13 new tokenized stocks on the $SOL network, expanding the range of tokenized assets in traditional financial markets.
The list of new stocks included prominent names such as Disney, Uber, GameStop, Exxon Mobil, and Johnson & Johnson, alongside technology and industrial companies such as Texas Instruments, Lockheed Martin, Arista Networks, Seagate, Flex, Salesforce, Lumentum, and Merck.
This move allows investors to trade digital representations of shares in major companies via the Solana blockchain, enabling digital trading of stocks.
The announcement did not include details about applicable fees, expected trading volume, or regulatory terms, leaving some questions about how the secondary market for these tokenized shares will work.
This move comes as tokenized-asset platforms look to expand their offerings, but questions remain about how much traditional financial institutions will rely on blockchain to trade stocks.
