In the middle of the night, BTC is doing something interesting. The price is down just 0.14% over 15m—not much at first glance—but OI is rising and volume has hit 2x normal levels. That suggests new leveraged shorts are piling in, rather than this being simply a sell-off caused by longs closing out. Active trade delta is -14.6%, the buy/sell ratio is 0.75, and selling pressure is still there. The 5m Binance futures liquidation proxy is also at $1.71M, concentrated on the sell side. Notional change is the highest across the whole pool, and the OI anomaly percentile is 74.2%—plenty of activity in the data. But with this low-volume drift down and shorts adding, the biggest risk is a sudden bounce that wipes out the new shorts. Liquidity is thin in the early hours, so don't rush to chase it.
