On the evening of November 2 (UTC+8), Binance issued a security reminder titled “Beware of Scams While Withdrawals Are Being Restored”; Yi He reposted it shortly afterward and highlighted the warning. Chinese-language outlets ODaily, ChainCatcher, Deep Tide, and others followed up with breaking news the same day. Withdrawal services are still being restored in phases, and scammers are exploiting this window by impersonating Binance through direct messages, emails, group chats, and even memo fields on small transfers. They claim they can “speed up withdrawals,” “prioritize processing,” or help you “claim compensation,” or ask you to transfer assets to a supposed “Binance vault.”
Binance listed things it will never do: proactively ask about your account or funds; offer or sell priority withdrawal slots; charge fees to unlock a network or assets; ask you to connect a wallet, sign an authorization, or make a transfer to “unlock” withdrawals; ask you to transfer funds to any “vault,” “secure account,” or “custodial wallet”; send links for compensation, eligibility verification, or status checks; ask for your password, 2FA verification code, or seed phrase; direct you to nonofficial websites to check proof of reserves; or offer paid “asset recovery.” Check withdrawal progress only in the Binance app, and don’t trust paid acceleration services.
The company is covering the losses, and reimbursements and the phased restoration are still underway. For now, it is even more important not to fall for fake compensation offers or fake vault schemes. Trust only official announcements and the official app; never click unfamiliar links or sign unclear requests.
