Musk rubs salt in CZ’s wound. CZ: Don’t forget you owe me SpaceX shares!

During the uproar over Binance reportedly losing 6.3 billion to a hack, CZ posted an urgent reminder for users to watch out for phishing attacks. Musk went straight to the comments, dropped a smirking emoji, and basically showed up to watch the drama unfold.

CZ snapped back on the spot: “Elon, I’ve always had a lot of respect for you, but this really isn’t the time to joke around. When you bought Twitter, we invested $500 million. That stake is now worth over $1 billion, so I hope you can show at least a little support.”

In plain English: You’re laughing at my exchange getting hacked? Don’t forget you were the one who came to me for investment back then.

Musk didn’t respond to that at all. An hour later, he showed up under another one of CZ’s posts and replied with a laughing face and a fire emoji, carrying on with the jokes and stirring the pot. CZ was still earnestly explaining that the hack was far more complex than outsiders imagined, while Musk had already scrolled on to the next bit of entertainment.

CZ should avoid arguing with him publicly next time and just DM Musk: That laughing emoji of yours is worth $500 million—how about paying me back first?
