October 31 PoR update now fully verifiable by users, with ZK proof generated (2026-11-02)

Dear Binancer,

In the Recovery Update 3, we confirmed that the affected assets were replenished using Binance’s own funds and that all BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC are 100% backed. We also conducted a new Proof of Reserves (PoR) update as of 2026/10/31 00:00 (UTC) to provide an updated view of assets with transparency.

The full zero-knowledge proof for this latest PoR update was completed within the estimated timeframe. Binance users who hold any of these ten tokens can independently verify that their balances on Binance are backed at a minimum of 1:1. To do so, simply use the verification tool on our PoR site. See the instructions in our guide here.

We plan to carry out another update covering more tokens on 04/11/2026. We will then generate a new full zero-knowledge proof, which we estimate will take around 40 to 50 hours to complete due to the computational load involved.

As mentioned in Recovery Update 4, Binance has already covered approximately 95% of the affected value. The remaining 5% corresponds to tokens not included among the ten listed above. These assets have lower liquidity and take longer to acquire at the required scale. We continue to work with industry partners to complete the remaining acquisitions.

We are also working to resume withdrawals on other networks and for other assets. The next phase is expected to take place tomorrow — it will be a gradual rollout, and we will share the details when it is ready.

Our commitment remains the same: Binance will absorb the financial impact of the stolen funds, not our users. Now that the proof is complete, the portion of this commitment that has already been replenished can be publicly verified. We reiterate that Brazilian users' funds are protected.

Thank you for your support!

Frequently Asked Questions About Proof of Reserves Verification

Binance publishes Proof of Reserves (PoR) so users don't have to simply take our word for it. Anyone can learn more about PoR and how it cryptographically proves that users' assets on Binance are backed at a minimum of 1:1 here.

Users can learn how to perform the verification in our guide here.

Before you begin: you'll need to log in to your Binance account and download the verification tool from the PoR site to your computer to run your own verification.

Security reminder: for your own safety, only visit the official Binance website. Do not share your login information or use devices you do not trust.

Why is verifying my assets with PoR so complicated?

We understand that PoR verification may seem technical. It is based on cryptography, not on a number we ask you to trust, and the steps are designed precisely so that you don't have to rely solely on Binance's word. To make things easier, we've published a step-by-step guide here.

Why do I need to download the verification files to my computer?

You verify on your own devices so you can be sure that you are running your own checks on your own machine.

The verifier is open source and can be downloaded and run by anyone. We publish updates in a public GitHub repository, and the code has been independently audited. This allows the developer community and the general public to transparently review the implementation.

Are PoR and zero-knowledge proofs reliable?

Yes. Binance's Proof of Reserves uses a Merkle Tree system with a zk-SNARK (zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive argument of knowledge).

The Merkle Tree allows each user to independently verify that the assets in their own account are included in the reserve update.

The zk-SNARK proves that, for the update carried out on 31/10/2026 00:00 (UTC), reserves are backed at a minimum of 1:1, without revealing any individual user's balance.

Together, the result is cryptographically proven: you can confirm that your own assets are covered and included in the PoR update we published, without exposing your balance or anyone else's.

Thank you for your support!
