$HYPE These two dates are worth watching more closely than the price. The question I’ve been getting most often lately is about HYPE’s unlock in three days: November 6—should you get out?

Let’s start with the numbers. The calendar says 9.917 million tokens, roughly 1% of the total supply.

But I checked a few data sources, and this figure wasn’t reported by the team itself. It’s an upper-bound estimate extrapolated by a third party from the allocation model. Put simply, that’s how much could be claimed in the worst-case scenario—it doesn’t mean they’ll definitely claim that much. A lot of people are treating this as guaranteed selling pressure, but that’s an oversimplification.

There’s another detail people have overlooked. 179,000 tokens are already going through the unstaking process on-chain, and should arrive around November 4. That’s already in motion, not just a number on paper.

So I don’t agree with the one-line conclusion that HYPE is finished if 9.917 million tokens hit the market. Even if they do sell, it matters who’s selling and where the tokens go.

I’m watching just two things: whether the batch unstaked on the 4th ends up moving to exchanges or just sits in wallets, and how much is actually distributed on the 6th—and how far that is from the estimate.

It’s understandable to be concerned, but emotions are emotions. For HYPE to regain strength in the short term, it does need to work through this overhang first. But if the actual selling pressure isn’t that heavy, it could surprise to the upside! I’ll share my entry strategy in the chat room then! Follow along: @10000ETt
