Odaily Planet Daily reports that U.S. President Donald Trump said he would be willing to grant preventive pardons to Elon Musk and his associates to protect them from congressional investigations if the Democrats regain control of Congress after the midterm elections.

In an interview, Trump dismissed claims that Democrats might push to nationalize Musk-owned SpaceX, but said he would protect the billionaire entrepreneur and any aides targeted by congressional investigators, including Edward Coristine, who worked on government project cuts at Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Trump confirmed that, if necessary, such protection could include preemptive pardons. Former U.S. President Biden granted preemptive pardons to his son, Hunter Biden, and several government officials who might face retaliation from a second Trump administration. Trump cited this as justification for his promise to protect his allies. “Biden did it. He pardoned everyone,” Trump said. He also mentioned Biden’s pardons for people who assisted with the investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. (Bloomberg)
