Came across an announcement from Animoca Brands: its Abu Dhabi subsidiary, Animoca Asset Management (AD) Limited, has received a Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), authorizing it to conduct the activity of “managing collective investment funds” in or from ADGM.

TokenPost added some details: the permission took effect on October 13; the firm cannot deal with retail clients or hold or control client assets. This is the final approval, following in-principle approval in November 2025. The number of fund and asset management firms in ADGM reached 190 in the first half of the year, up 23% year on year, while the FSRA issued 45 new FSPs during the half-year.

This asset management licensing push in the Middle East feels more substantive than simply talking about institutional adoption.
