Someone asks: When does each Bitcoin halving happen?
I usually answer like this: Bitcoin’s second halving took place on July 9, 2016, at block height 420,000. The block reward dropped from 25 coins to 12.5. Halving only affects the rate at which new coins are produced; there’s no relationship with the price written into the protocol, and there have only been four historical examples.
