My take: With AMD’s earnings, what people fear isn’t AMD itself—it’s the shock Intel just gave them.

On Friday, Intel said PC weakness could last through the first half of next year, and AMD dropped 10.9% in a single day. But PCs account for more than half of Intel’s revenue and less than a quarter of AMD’s, so AMD seems to be getting caught in the crossfire.

AMD’s own guidance is for revenue of around $13 billion, due Wednesday at 6 a.m. Beijing time. Perpetuals are currently around 516; Friday’s low of 493.6 is the floor for me, and if it breaks below that, I’m out. 565 is the high from Tuesday’s candle; let’s see if it gets back there.

Do you think Wednesday morning will bring an “overreaction rebound” or a “sell-the-news” reaction?
