Never think that hacking a bank and hacking a crypto exchange are the same! Hacking a crypto exchange is far more dangerous because digital assets can be moved instantly, in enormous amounts.

Unlike traditional banks, which can pause transactions or issue refunds, blockchain transactions are almost impossible to reverse. Funds can be moved across multiple networks and countries in just minutes.

Banks have insurance, regulations, and mechanisms for recovering assets. Crypto exchanges lack these layers of protection, leaving customers exposed to enormous risks if an exchange cannot compensate them.

Although stablecoins can freeze an address, that doesn’t guarantee the funds will be returned. This is a clash between the advantages of centralization (easy intervention) and decentralization (resistance to control).

It’s the incredible speed, immutability, and lack of recovery systems that make containing a crypto hack a real nightmare. So, how can you best protect your assets in this risky crypto world?
