Bitcoin held up unexpectedly well after Binance suffered a record-breaking cyber theft last week. Sean McNulty, a derivatives trader at market maker AQC Tech, said one reason Bitcoin has been more resilient this time is that Binance is buying Bitcoin to compensate users for their losses.

He also noted, however, that underlying market sentiment remains tense and uneasy.
