BTCPay Server’s official team issued an alert saying it had received reports that funds were transferred from the hot wallets of some BTCPay Server instances by unauthorized attackers. Users running instances were advised to shut them down until the investigation was complete.
The official team later updated its findings: the attack targeted instances running version 2.4.1 or earlier. So far, it has received no credible reports of hot wallets being stolen from users running the latest version, 2.4.7. The team reiterated its advice to keep systems up to date. Affected users can send details and logs to the official security email address.
