NEVER ENTER YOUR SEED PHRASE IN ANY CLAIM APP: THE SKR CLAIM INCIDENT ON SOLANA MOBILE
Remember this first: Solana Mobile will never ask for your seed phrase to claim an airdrop. Any app that asks for your seed phrase should be considered a scam, even if it appears in a featured section of the store.
Here’s what happened on November 1: an attacker gained unauthorized access to the dApp publishing portal, altered the App Spotlight and Quests interfaces, then listed a fake SKR Claim app in Spotlight for about an hour. The app tricked users into entering their seed phrases under the pretense of claiming tokens. Solana Mobile then removed the app, is removing it from devices where it was installed, and has patched the vulnerability that allowed unpublished apps to be linked.
What remains to be confirmed: the number of affected devices, any financial losses, and how the attacker breached the publishing portal have not yet been disclosed. If you already entered your seed phrase, don’t delay: assume that wallet has been compromised and move your assets to a new wallet.
