ALTCOIN CALENDAR THIS WEEK: ZEC SPEEDS UP, BASE 10X FASTER, AND KITE UNLOCKS 17.4%
Two things are especially worth watching this week: a series of network upgrades from Nov. 4–6 and the unlock with the largest share coming from KITE.
Unlocks to watch first:
• Nov. 2: BTW unlocks 3.37% of its circulating supply (~109.6M)
• Nov. 3: KITE unlocks 17.4% of its circulating supply (~78.3M)
• Nov. 6: HYPE unlocks 0.08% of its circulating supply (~15.7M)
• Nov. 8: AVAX unlocks 0.3% of its circulating supply (~14.4M)
An unlock adds new supply to the market; it is not an automatic sell order. But the larger the percentage, the more closely short-term pressure is worth watching.
Network events this week:
• ZEC – Nov. 5–6: Zcash is expected to upgrade to NU7 at block 3,543,405, reducing block times from 75s to 25s for nearly 3x faster confirmations.
• XLM – Nov. 4: Stellar is expected to vote on the Bell upgrade on testnet, followed by a mainnet vote on Nov. 24. This is still a vote, not an activated upgrade.
• ZEN – 8:00 PM Nov. 4 (Vietnam time): Horizen will close the bridge from the old network to Base. Late transfers will have to wait for DAO reimbursement, and USDC.e is not eligible for reimbursement.
• ETH – Nov. 3–6: Devcon 8 takes place in Mumbai, India, focusing on Ethereum technology and development roadmap.
• Base – 1:00 AM Nov. 6 (Vietnam time): The Denim upgrade cuts block times from 2s to 0.2s. These are real blocks every 0.2s, not the preconfirmation signals used by Flashblocks previously.
