Lately, the crypto community has been on edge, as frequent security incidents have once again put everyone on alert. Faced with the threat of hacker attacks and asset theft, the entire industry is mounting a joint defense.
According to in-depth discussions in the community, current security threats have evolved, and there are two new areas that deserve special attention:
First, money can be stolen even without a private key leak. Many malicious actors no longer try to obtain your private key, but instead abuse signature authorizations. For example, in your hot wallet, if you accidentally click the wrong thing or are tricked into signing a malicious authorization, an attacker can transfer your assets directly. That is why the need to regularly clear wallet authorizations is constantly emphasized.
Second, third-party services and hardware wallets have become new targets. It used to be thought that buying a hardware wallet solved all problems, but attacks have now reached hardware wallet sales channels and related third-party services. If these links in the chain are compromised, a huge number of users and their assets will be affected. Although, from a market perspective, major coins such as BTC and ETH continue to rise slightly (BTC +0.45%, ETH +0.38%), and market sentiment seems stable, this is by no means a reason to let your guard down. For ordinary users, there is only one rule for staying safe right now: never blindly trust any third-party links; carefully check the details of signature authorizations before making a transaction; store large assets in offline cold storage whenever possible; and never buy hardware devices through unofficial channels.
